Wat is er leuker dan materiaal te kunnen bewerken wat soms al duizende jaren oud is? Sinds de oudheid is de mens bezig geweest objecten en kunstwerken te houwen uit steen. De oudste en meest creatieve manier van steenhouwen is taille direct. Een wijze die we gaan toepassen in de steen. We gaan werken met natuursteen en natuurlijk niet meteen met de hardste soort, maar met de zogenaamde zeepsteen. Je gaat zelf een sculptuur maken door delen weg te hakken en te schrapen en te vijlen. Deze zeepsteen ookwel speksteen genoemd heeft een hardheid van 1 en dit betekent in de beeldhouwerswereld dat het onder de noemer ‘ makkelijk te bewerken’  valt. De steen bestaat uit het miniraal talk en heeft vaker een doorschijnend karakter. Kleuren kunnen zijn wit, roze, groen en zwart afhankelijk van de herkomst van de steen.

Hoe leuk is het om een eeuwenoude steen om te toveren tot een heus beeldhouwwerk?!

De workshop start om 9.00 uur met lekkere bak koffie of thee en uitleg over het programma. Je krijgt uitleg over de verschillende materialen en steen en je maakt kennis met de andere deelnemers. Vervolgens mag je een steen uitzoeken die jou aanspreekt en gaan we je werkplek inrichten. Natuurlijk krijg je aanwijzingen en verder uitleg. we streven ernaar om 17.00 uur klaar te zijn. Tussendoor is er natuurlijk gelegenheid tot lunch.

De workshop is geschikt voor alle kinderen vanaf 7 jaar en ouder, dus ook volwassenen! Er is genoeg plek voor zowel grote als kleine groepen.

De kosten voor de workhop bedragen 75 euro inclusief materiaal zoals de steen en gereedschappen die nodig zijn en zijn ook inclusief koffie/thee versnaperingen.
